Completed in May 2025 in mixed media on 300x400mm stretch canvas, the original artwork is of a solitary puffin standing on a coastal cliff edge, surrounded by Oxeye (Moon) daisies.
The bird's bright orange-red beak, eye rims, and legs create warm focal points that complement the yellow centres of the daisies. These yellow centres cast subtle golden highlights onto the puffin's white chest. The puffin's blue-black head and back plumage create a striking contrast with its white chest and the surrounding elements. This balance of warm and cool colours evokes both serenity and wildness, with the daisies gently moving in the sea breeze as the puffin stands alert, possibly considering a dive into the waters below.
